2024 demonstration

Our annual demonstration will be Sunday, June 9 at 2:00 pm, at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. All students are invited to participate and show what they have learned over the last year. Admission for students’ families is free with a voucher (please pick up at the dojo). All other attendees will have to pay the regular admission fee to the Garden. Please come support our students and the Taka Karate School!

Taka Karate School 46th Annual Demonstration

Taka Karate School will be hosting its 46th annual demonstration on Sunday May 26, 2019 from 2-4pm at the Yates Memorial Centre in Lethbridge AB. Please come and experience traditional Okinawan karate from an internationally respected teacher and his students. Sensei Kinjo holds a 10th degree black belt in Gohakukai Karate (Goju-Ryu and Tomari-te styles). His dedication to the art of karate and his community service have resulted in numerous awards and honors, including the Caring Canadian Award (presented by the Governor General of Canada) and an honorary PhD from the University of Lethbridge.

Demonstration tickets are $20 and can be purchased from dojo students, Sensei Kinjo, or at the door on the day of the event.

Please note that our store is called “Taka Karate School Gohakukai Canada”. The other store with the name Taka Karate School on urstore.com is FAKE and was set up by a former student who is no longer affiliated with our school.

Sensei Kinjo receives 10th dan black belt

On May 19, 2013, Kaicho Sensei Iken Tokashiki, founder of Gohakukai Karate-Do, presented Sensei Kinjo with his 10th dan black belt.
