Sensei Yoshitaka Kinjo teaches Gohakukai Karate. Sensei Kinjo became a student of Sensei Iken Tokashiki in Okinawa, Japan in 1968. After moving to Canada in 1971, he opened his own Dojo in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1973.
Sensei Kinjo received his 10th dan black belt in 2013. He was also the receipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Laws degree from the University of Lethbridge in 2005, received the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005, and was elected to the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
