Mitchell Ross, 3rd dan



Mitchell Ross was first introduced to karate in the fall of 1994 at the age of thirteen, in Taber, where he studied under Sensei Rob Ross, and Sensei Ron Oswald.

In 2001, he had the privilege of traveling to Japan for two months with a relative. After traveling to Tokyo he was able to practice with Sensei Hosoya, and Sensei Onoe, of the Tokyo mainland school for a class.

Mitchell then began practice under Sensei Taka Kinjo in the fall of 2004. In the summer of 2005 he was awarded junior Shodan, and then Shodan in the summer of 2008. Through the University of Lethbridge he took an applied studies course for a semester, where he was able to be an assistant instructor under the guidance of Sensei Kinjo. In May 2018, Mitchell was awarded San Dan (3rd Degree) by Sensei Kinjo. Mitchell currently lives outside of Biggar, Saskatchewan and teaches karate privately in Biggar and Saskatoon.
